Freshly Brewed Poems

Work Description

During my employment with Welsh Technologies, Inc., I was outsourced by Larry's Coffee (one of the company's clients) to provide short-term sales and marketing support. My services included communication with Larry's customers. One of the customers reached out to me with an idea to create a poetry section on Larry's website where anyone could submit a self-authored poem. The management approved the idea under the condition that I take a lead on this project.

The customer who proposed the idea helped me form a poetry committee consisting of four local poets (including the customer) and myself. Our committee had a series of Zoom meetings to discuss the structure of the poetry section. At one of the meetings, the section's name was born: Freshly Brewed Poems. We had a limited budget, so the poem submission process had to be simple.

This was a collaborative project. The poetry committee brainstormed ideas and created content. I served as the project manager and created the wireframes for the poetry submission pages. The Welsh Technologies web development team wrote the code and published the new pages on the Larry's Coffee website.

This work demonstrates the following skills and competencies I have mastered in code-free web development:

  • Knowledge of best practices of a web-based interaction workflow,
  • Understanding of the fundamental principles of web design and user experience,
  • Creation of explicit easy-to-follow wireframes,
  • Knowledge of copyright,
  • Project management skills.

Project Highlights:

>> Detailed wireframe for each page with notes for discussion:

>> YouTube video embed functionality:

>> Submission terms to prevent copyright violations:

>> Integration with the internal system:
