Webflow Training

Case Study

I created this course sample for Methods & Techniques of Training & Development (EAC 586). The course has a curriculum and a number of learning resources. I was free to choose my own topic, training mode (online, hybrid, or face-to-face), pedagogical strategies, and the format of the learning resources.

The course sample was part of the larger project - training module handbook. The handbook represented a detailed plan for the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of the course and followed the ADDIE model. The topic I chose for this course sample was perfectly aligned with one of my other skill areas - no-code web development. I used Thinkific as a content authoring platform and learning management system. The project-based learning model served as the pedagogical framework for my course. I borrowed some ideas from several theories of experiential learning to emphasize the "learning through doing" component. The only graphic I used for the course was a diagram which I created myself.

Since this was a class assignment, the final product was not intended to be used by real-life learners.

This was an individual project. I spent about 10 - 15 hours of development time.

The work demonstrates the following skills and competencies I have mastered in learning design:

  • Writing clear and specific learning objectives based on Bloom's taxonomy,
  • Development of digital storytelling products to explain main concepts and processes,
  • Design of a project-based learning experience,
  • Scaffolding: splitting the project into a series of bite-size assignments,
  • Writing a structured and explicit grading rubric,
  • Writing a pre-assessment survey,
  • Design and development of learning aids,
  • Ensuring close alignment of learning activities with learning objectives,
  • Selection of instructional strategies,
  • Writing a course evaluation survey.
